Race Challenges are independently timed races, meaning participants can race the course at the time of their choosing simply by recording a track while doing an entire race route using our TerraQuest app or some other compatible app. After the track is saved in the TerraQuest app or synced compatible app, times are automatically posted to Challenge Leaderboards. If a user records multiple challenge attempts, the fastest attempt is posted to the Leaderboard.
Mileage Challenges involve accumulating unique miles, like the TrailQuest 750-mile singletrack trail mile challenge powered by TerraQuest in the CBGTrails app.
How to participate in Challenges
To participate in either type of challenge:
- Register a TerraQuest account and join the Organization in the TerraQuest app or website.
- Record and save tracks using the TerraQuest app, other compatible app, or hardware that generates .gpx files to import. Ensure your track starts before the race route and ends after the race route. Routes can be cropped to match the start and finish points.
- Track your progress on the respective Organization’s Challenge Leaderboards.
- Individual scorecards are available via Sub-Challenges.
THE NUMBER 1 KEY TO ENSURING YOU GET CREDIT FOR CHALLENGE EFFORT IS TO RECORD AND SAVE A TRACK THAT CAN BE SYNCED OR IMPORTED AS A .GPX FILE INTO TERRAQUEST.
